Effective 12 October 2026
Child Safety Standards
Hotspots is operated by Innix. These standards describe how we prevent and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in the Hotspots app.
Hotspots has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Accounts involved in it are permanently banned and reported to the authorities.
What is prohibited
Anywhere in Hotspots — profiles, photos, events, comments, announcements and group messages — you may not:
- post, send, share or request child sexual abuse material, including drawn, edited or AI-generated imagery;
- sexualise minors in any way, including sexual comments about a minor or their appearance;
- groom a minor: building contact or trust with a child for sexual purposes, or arranging to meet them for that purpose;
- sextort, threaten or coerce a minor, or solicit sexual images or contact from them;
- promote, facilitate or advertise the trafficking or sexual exploitation of children.
These rules are part of our Terms of Use, which everyone accepts when they sign up.
How Hotspots limits risk
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Hotspots (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if higher).
- Hotspots has no open direct messages. Only someone you have accepted as a friend can add you to a friend group or invite you to a personal event, and personal events are never public.
- Anyone can block another personal account. After a block neither person can find or contact the other in the app.
- Every report is reviewed by a person. We never act automatically on report counts alone.
How to report a concern
- In the app: open the profile, comment, group message, event or business and choose “Report” (on a profile: “Block or report”). Pick the reason that fits best, such as “Nudity or sexual content”. Reports are anonymous: the reported person is never told who reported them.
- By email: hotspots [at] innix [dot] nl. Describe where you saw it (username, event or group). Please don’t attach or forward the images themselves.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number (112 in the EU, 911 in the US) first.
What we do
- We remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved.
- We report confirmed CSAM and child exploitation to the relevant authorities, including Offlimits (the Dutch reporting point for online child sexual abuse) and the Dutch police, and to NCMEC’s CyberTipline where applicable.
- We preserve the information the authorities need and cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
- We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us.
