Delete Your Account
Hotspots is developed by Innix. This page explains how to request that your Hotspots account and its associated data are deleted, and what is removed or kept when you do.
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the app — deletion is immediate and permanent. If you can no longer sign in, email us and we will delete your data on request.
Delete from inside the app
Sign in to Hotspots, then:
Personal accounts
- Open the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account is deleted and you are signed out.
Business accounts
- Open the Business owner dashboard.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account and confirm. Your account is deleted and you are signed out.
If you can't sign in
Email hotspots [at] innix [dot] nl from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify the request and delete your data within 30 days.
What is deleted
Deleting your account removes it permanently. The following data is deleted:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Profile (name, email, account ID) | Deleted |
| Photos (profile avatar, business logo) | Deleted |
| Content you created (events, comments, announcements, group messages) | Deleted or anonymised so it no longer identifies you |
| Friendships, group memberships, RSVPs | Deleted |
| Push notification token | Deleted |
| Saved location preference | Deleted |
What is kept, and for how long
- Encrypted backups. After deletion, residual copies may remain in our provider's encrypted backups and age out on the backup schedule (currently 7 days). They are not restored except to recover from a disaster.
- Shared content authored by others. Messages or events created by other people are not deleted; where they refer to you, your identity is removed (anonymised).
- Records we are legally required to keep. If any minimal record must be retained to meet a legal obligation, it is kept only for the period the law requires and then deleted.
We do not keep an advertising profile of you — Hotspots does not use advertising identifiers or sell your data. For the full picture of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
